The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 1.2

If you want to distribute your Microsoft PowerPoint presentations but you are very much concerned with protecting your work from stealing and copying, you should know that there is no way to protect your hard work from copying but only by converting your presentations to video format and there will be absolutely no way of extracting the original PPT from them again. PPT To Video Scout 1.2 introduced by ByteScout is the program you need in order to convert your Microsoft PowerPoint documents into different video formats. A wide range of codecs are supported in this program including Flash video and VideoCD with resolution and frame rate management. You can let the program automatically browse your slide-show or you can manually browse it and add sound with your microphone which is another great feature. The program supports command line interface which enables program developers to build their own applications. The author's website contains some great video tutorials that will explain to you many aspects of how to utilize this program.
  • Many formats are supported.
  • Sound recording.
  • Command line support.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint add-on.
  • Week mechanism for recording.
  • It sometimes crashes with big files.
  • CPU intensive.
